Job Summary
The Resident Care Worker provides supportive, recovery-oriented interaction and monitoring of individuals with mental health, substance use, and/or co-occurring needs, residing in the WCS Recovery House.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor resident and guest activity to ensure safety and well-being.
- Conduct hourly rounds and regular wellness checks throughout the Recovery House
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
- Use verbal de-escalation techniques (e.g. Vistelar) to prevent escalation and promote a safe environment.
- Notify the Program Manager of emergencies and respond as needed.
- Interact with residents in a recovery-focused, trauma-informed, strength-based, and person-centered manner.
- Act as a positive role model and utilize Motivational Interviewing and other supportive techniques to enhance engagement.
- Record and relay resident inquiries and concerns to the Program Manager. Communicate all resident and facility-related incidents promptly and accurately.
- Document all resident contacts, incidents, and wellness checks in resident files.
- Complete documentation in Avatar for any CCS enrolled individuals.
- Respond to general inquiries (phone and door), greet guests, and maintain the check-in/check-out log.
- Maintain building security and sanitation to ensure a safe and clean environment for all.
