Why Vertical Cold Storage needs you:This person will be responsible for the daily operation of the ammonia refrigeration system and general building maintenance.
Essential Functions:
Perform daily rounds on the ammonia refrigeration system, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, log, and assist on warehouse general repairs which include dock levelers, freezer doors, a/c units, light plumbing, electrical. Candidate must be comfortable to be in rotation for on-calls in emergencies.Locate source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoist, cranes, hand tools and power tools.Responsible for the care and upkeep of the building, material handling equipment, and refrigeration systems. Identify current and future maintenance requirements by establishing rapport with management and personnel.Review preventative maintenance reports and statistics; inspect operating machines, equipment, and systems for conformance with operational standards. Resolve maintenance problems by conferring with Maintenance I and/or management. Protect employees and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean working environment. Collaborate departmental workflow between warehouse, production, office, and corporate administrative departments. Support assigned duties of warehouse management to assist in the business of the facility.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of maintenance, mechanical, electrical, ability to read schematics and basic welding.RETA Certification in Industrial Refrigeration Course One or equivalent certificationAbility to communicate at all levels as well as read and write English. Capable of using a wide variety of hand tools and various electric/mechanical testing devices. Problem solving abilities with attention to detail.Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds frequentlyAbility to work in temperatures as low as -5 Fahrenheit in cold storage sites while wearing company provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear or up to 100 Fahrenheit outdoors.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma3-5 years’ experience in warehouse/distribution maintenanceMust have Industrial Refrigeration Operator One certification or equivalent.Knowledge and experience in Safety and OSHA desired
