Job Overview
Cisco Equipment Rentals is seeking an experienced and customer-focused **Parts Counter Associate** to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting customers and technicians with parts inquiries, sales, and inventory management for heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of equipment parts and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Assist walk-in and call-in customers with parts inquiries and purchases.
- Provide expert guidance on parts compatibility and availability.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing needs promptly and professionally.
Parts Sales
- Promote and sell parts and accessories to customers and technicians.
- Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell parts and services.
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, including quotes, invoices, and payments.
Inventory Management
- Maintain an organized and accurate parts inventory.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with stock replenishment.
- Monitor parts usage trends and provide feedback to the Parts Manager on inventory needs.
Technical Support
- Utilize parts catalogs, diagrams, and systems to identify and locate specific parts.
- Collaborate with technicians and service teams to fulfill parts requests promptly.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with standards.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training preferred.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a parts counter or similar role, preferably in heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment brands such as Linkbelt, JCB, Hyundai, Caterpillar, Komatsu, or John Deere is a plus.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficient in using parts catalogs, inventory systems, and related software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and technical aspects of heavy equipment parts.
Skills:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling parts and transactions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry parts and equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically active environment.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid driver's license required.
