Position Summary: Safely deliver freight to and from various locations within the company and perform product deliveries to external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Safely operate a tractor trailer to shuttle freight to various internal locations as well as perform customer deliveries and assist with loading/unloading perishable plant material.
  • Routes will be local with no regular overnight routes. All routes are expected to be completed safely in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations.
  • Perform required safety checks {pre/post trip) inspections of equipment according to Department of Transportation regulations, meeting company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Reporting all safety issues and/or repairs required to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensures all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point.
  • Assist in loading/unloading freight when needed and ensuring all freight is properly always secured.
  • Present a professional appearance and display good customer service when communicating and interacting with customers.
  • Will be expected to do other work when not driving.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Minimum 1 year experience driving tractor trailer.
  • Experience with manual transmissions. 
  • Must pass background check, drug test, and have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Must have or obtain valid medical card before hire. 
  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn to operate a lift truck/forklift.
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently enough to converse with customer.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift/push/pull 60 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work 40 or more hours per week, with extended hours required during peak season and a willingness to work in adverse weather conditions. Including some weekend work at peak season. 

Salary Information

$24.0 - $29.0 Hourly Wage
