Position Overview

The Director of Product Management is responsible for managing assigned wallcovering product lines and initiatives within Versa’s commercial and residential product portfolio.  This role owns execution across product lifecycles-supporting strategy development, developing/evaluating product data analytics, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal product performance and profitability. 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop analytics to measure product performance by individual products, product types, categories and customers 
  • Monitor product performance ROI, including sales, margin, inventory and SKU productivity.
  • Manage/monitor sales mix to ensure optimal spread across categories
  • Collaborate with Design and Operations to ensure optimal product production routing
  • Develop pricing targets/strategies for all new products
  • Coordinate/communicate technical performance product specifications both internally and for customer requirements 
  • Train as back-up support for BOM management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on determining packaging options for new   product types/categories
  • Collaborate with Ops/Finance/Sales teams in development of finished goods inventory strategy/plan
  • Develop & review product lifecycle/vitality analytics with recommendations
  • Evaluate/propose recommendations for product discontinuance semi-annually 
  • Identify opportunities for redeployment of discontinued and/or under-performing designs/colors 
  • Collaborate with Design on color/sku strategy, utilizing data analytics and market research
  • Work closely with Design in execution and oversight of Master Lineplan, for both domestic and international 
  • Coordinate all product development activities with international/regional teams 
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitive research across materials, product categories, design trends, pricing, performance attributes, etc. 
  • Work closely with Design, Global Business Development & R&D teams and customers on defining product needs and opportunities
  • Manage/administrate global product placements for branded and OEM customers 
  • Provide product development support to international regional facilities as required
  • Assist Marketing/Sales with product training, customer presentations and key account support as required
  • Manage Intellectual Property initiatives/assets
  • Provide support to Sr VP Product Management as required

 Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited 4-year college in Business, Marketing, Design or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in product management, product development, merchandising or related
  • Solid analytical skills with ability to create and interpret complex reports
  • Advanced Excel/SQL knowledge with ERP experience preferred
  • Team player able to work well across cross-functional teams, both domestically and internationally.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Passion for design, materials and customer experience
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and comfortable managing multiple complex projects   
  • Desire for advancement to Senior level position
