Position Title: Porta Potty/ Waste Technician

Location: Icy Strait Point, Hoonah, Alaska

Reports To: Facilities & Maintenance Manager

Category: Seasonal | Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $19.00 per hour, with bonus potential

As a Porta Potty / Waste Technician, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and public comfort across the property. If you’re dependable, hands-on, and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves, this is an essential position with a strong, supportive team.

Job Duties:

Works for STP Porta Potty crew

Rides with driver for cleaning

Will be a back up driver and operator for the driver and tech

Need a valid drivers license

Restock and clean all porta potty's

To assist Guest in Public Areas when required

To have good knowledge of all facilities, hours of operation, Restaurants, shops and function rooms.

Post caution signs as and when required

Responsible to follow departmental policies and procedures

Responsible for upkeep of all the equipment which he is using i.e., Vacuum cleaner, trolleys, Scrubbing machine.

Responsible for maintaining a time schedule for cleaning of their areas.

Responsible for spring/winter cleaning of their area as per the schedule is given to them.

Any other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
Prolonged periods of standing.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
Must be able to swing an ax and cut wood
Ability to communicate in English to our associates and guests.
Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
Ability to work in an unheated building.
Willing to live in a remote, rural community
Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting
Able to walk and/or drive on gravel roads in inclement weather
In Season, the hours can be extended.
