Direct Millwork is a growing production facility seeking a reliable and ambitious individual to work with a team in our door shop gathering all components to cut to precise sizes, machine to proper specifications and assemble all components to become the finished product.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Inside Sales Manager, this position manages the supply of materials in many concurrent construction projects in New Jersey, Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts. As the primary customer contact, professional communication is crucial to success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare submittals from contract documents
- Detail and revise projects in industry specific software
- Price, process and manage change orders
- Project manage including cost control, change orders, billings and performance (both financial and production)
- Meet the required delivery dates and deadlines for multiple projects at different stages of the construction schedule
- Responsible for the overall profitability of the project
- Prepare/present proposals to the G.C. or owner
- Read and decipher accounting reports
- Responsible for business development as well as maintaining existing customer base
- Estimate, negotiate and adjust the cost to help insure the awarding of the job
- Prevent and minimize mistakes which are crucial to customer satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability
- As a member of an Account Team, it is imperative the Estimator has the ability to work as a team and collaborate effectively
- Project manage and coordinate the job with other divisions
- Attend job site meetings, schedule installation, and assist others with their work when needed
- Other duties as requested, directed or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous doors, millwork or building supplies experience is strongly desired
- Demonstrated experience in creating estimates and interpreting estimates
- Professional communication is crucial to success
- Good math skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- A quick learner - Ability to learn and assimilate technical knowledge related to projects (e.g., billings, buy out, budgets, problem solving, estimating, etc.)
- Prior business development experience is a plus
- Possess good sales ability
