Job Summary:

The Portable Restroom Technician will be responsible for the safe delivery, setup, service, and maintenance of portable restrooms at various locations along designated routes. This role involves operating a company vehicle, loading and unloading units, ensuring proper placement at sites, and servicing units to maintain hygiene standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a company vehicle to transport and deliver portable restrooms to assigned locations according to established routes and schedules.
  • Efficiently load and unload portable restrooms onto the delivery truck, ensuring secure placement and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Set up and arrange portable restrooms at event sites, construction sites, and other designated locations, ensuring proper positioning and accessibility
    guidelines.
  • Service and clean portable restrooms, including emptying waste tanks and replenishing supplies to maintain cleanliness and functionality. 
  • Utilize company iPhone/iPad to record delivery and service details accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and respond to inquiries or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Adhere to all traffic and safety regulations, ensuring the safe operation of the delivery vehicle and equipment.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to optimize routes, plan efficient schedules, and ensure timely deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Maintain an organized workspace within the delivery vehicle and follow company policies for cleanliness and organization.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or irregularities to management promptly.
Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • Ability to operate a portable restroom truck safely and responsibly in various traffic and weather conditions. 
  • Strong ability to stay on schedule and adapt to changing priorities or delays. 
  • Professional and courteous communication with customers; ability to manage inquiries and resolve minor issues onsite.
  • Careful and thorough in completing service tasks, recording information accurately, and following safety protocols. 
  • Ability to access site conditions and adapt placement or service methods as needed. 
  • Willingness to collaborate with dispatchers, operations staff, and other drivers to ensure efficient workflow. 
  • Comfortable using a tablet or mobile device to log deliveries, services, and updates. 
  • Knowledge of and adherence of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and workplace safety standards. 
  • Ability to perform routine vehicle checks and report maintenance needs or minor repairs. 

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in delivery driving, route driving, or a similar field preferred.
  • Previous experience in sanitation, waste management, or field service work is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GPS navigation systems, route planning, and basic mobile apps (such as tablets or company iPads).
  • Mechanical aptitude or basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting is beneficial. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, rain, heat, and humidity.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 100 pounds regularly and repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Comfortable working on uneven and slippery surfaces such as dirt, mud, snow, or ice.
  • Must have the stamina to perform physically demanding labor for 8 plus hours shifts, including walking, standing, and frequent entry and exit from a commercial vehicle. 
  • Adequate hand strength and dexterity to operate hand tools, hoses, and cleaning equipment.
  • Must possess sufficient visual and auditory ability to safely operate a vehicle and respond to signals or hazards in a noisy outdoor environment. 
  • Willingness and physical ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
