About this position
Oversee the Foundation’s grantmaking and scholarship programs, manage fundraising initiatives, coordinate the distribution of Foundation resources, and facilitates agricultural education efforts in partnership with internal teams and statewide collaborators.
Grant and Scholarship Management
- Administer all Foundation grant and scholarship programs from application through award distribution.
- Maintain accurate records, timelines and evaluation processes to ensure transparency and compliance.
- Work with applicants, awardees and internal committees to support smooth program operations.
- Prepare reports summarizing grant impact, scholarship outcomes and program metrics.
Financial Distribution and Stewardship
- Coordinate the distribution of grant checks, scholarship funds and other Foundation disbursements.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely processing of all outgoing funding.
- Monitor budgets and track financial commitments associated with Foundation programs.
Fundraising and Donor Engagement
- Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies to support Foundation priorities.
- Manage donor relations, including stewardship, recognition and communication of impact.
- Coordinate giving campaigns, special initiatives and fundraising events.
- Identify opportunities to grow Foundation support through partnerships and sponsorships.
Communications and Outreach
- Create clear, compelling communication materials that highlight the Foundation’s mission and impact.
- Collaborate with KFB’s communications team to share stories, promote programs and build awareness.
- Manage content development and planning for Foundation-related digital platforms, newsletters and marketing materials.
Agricultural Education Leadership
- Serve as the organization’s lead for agricultural education and farm safety initiatives through partnerships across Kansas.
- Develop and maintain relationships with county Farm Bureaus, educators, partners and ag organizations.
- Coordinate programs, resources and collaborative projects that enhance agricultural literacy.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide staff support to Foundation board.
- Maintain accurate records and data related to programs, donors, grants and reporting.
- Represent the Foundation and KFB at meetings, conferences and partner events.
- Other duties as assigned to support organizational mission and goals.
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a minimum of three years experience in grant and scholarship management, event planning, fundraising or related fields; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Self-motivated, highly organized and able to manage details with accuracy and consistency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions that align with the organization’s mission and strategic direction.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills along with strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with Farm Bureau members and stakeholders.
- Proficient in computer applications and able to effectively use current technology and software tools.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and commitment to organizational values.
- Agricultural background or knowledge of agricultural practices is preferred.
- On-site position working Monday through Friday with occasional evening or weekend requirements for annual events or conferences.
Authority
- Makes recommendations to the Senior Director of Impact & Awareness.
- Has no supervisory authority.
Relationships
- Has frequent contact with Kansas Farm Bureau’s membership, potential members, outside businesses, partners and vendors.
- Works with Division Director, Field Services Managers, and state and county staff to coordinate events and meetings.
ADA & Physical Requirements
Requires ability to operate voice telephone, computer, and other office equipment. Requires in-state and minimal out-of-state travel. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Other current office activity includes: walking, standing, and sitting. Must be able to work outside of normal office hours. May require the ability to load and unload materials. Regular attendance (as defined by the Employee Handbook) is a function of the job.
