Summary
The Replenishment Buyer - Grocery (Bulk) orders product for the Bulk subdepartment, supporting the Co-op’s objectives for sales and margin by assuring acceptable inventory levels, while meeting consumer demand and minimizing shrink. This role is routinely entrusted with Co-op-wide confidential information necessary to perform its essential duties, including sales and margin targets, financial projections, and strategic plans related to revenue. A high level of discretion and confidentiality is required.

Day-to-Day Duties
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to source quality merchandise and identify new products.
- Manage inventory levels to meet sales demand and optimize stock, including special buy opportunities.
- Prioritize and place orders to meet deadlines and sales goals.
- Collaborate with stockers and managers to ensure departments are fully stocked, organized, and customer-friendly.
- Communicate regularly with Category and Merchandising Manager regarding vendor performance, product updates, pricing, signage, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain organized ordering processes and documentation.
- Cross-train in other subdepartments to support buying and merchandising functions.
- Direct and train department stockers as needed.
- Assist with merchandising, stocking, organizing, cleaning, and inventory tasks, including periodic audits.
- Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional late nights.
Qualifications & Skills
- Two years of buying, receiving, or grocery retail experience required OR 3 years of retail experience required.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency in Office 365 with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience with POS applications and inventory management systems preferred.
- Knowledge of natural and conventional foods and the food industry preferred.
