POSITION SUMMARY

Develop, maintain, and manage the organization’s master production schedule that enables on-time delivery of parts and assemblies while optimizing operational efficiency and ensure efficient use of resources, and alignment with business goals. Balance customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and maintain the master production schedule aligned with demand forecasts and customer orders across two sites.
  • Manage, coach and provide oversight and coordination of employees engaged in scheduling material and/or planning/coordinating activities.
  • Translate sales demand forecasts and customer orders into complaint production plans considering capacity, labor and material constraints.
  • Partner with closely with manufacturing, procurement, inventory, quality and logistics to ensure schedule feasibility.
  • Drive effective use of the material resource planning system to ensure material readiness and minimize shortages or excess inventory.
  • Identify capacity bottlenecks and collaborate with operations to develop mitigation plans.
  • Manage and approve schedule changes while minimizing disruption to manufacturing flow.
  • Lead scenario planning for demand changes, supply disruptions or equipment downtime.
  • Ensure planning data integrity in ERP systems, including bill of materials, routings, lead times, etc.
  • Communicate and distribute schedule requirements and updates to cross functional teams including Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales and Quality.
  • Participate in planning meetings to align forecasts and priorities.
  • Generate reports on production progress, inventory status and key performance indicators.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and tools.
  • Support implementation of improvements that may enhance scheduling accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Participates in recruiting, hiring, and evaluating performance.  Provide constructive feedback to employees.
  • Provide skill development training on proper use of systems and equipment and policies and procedures.
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as hiring, transfers or disciplinary measures.
  • Ensure team and employees work within the safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations Management or related field.
  • 5-10 years related experience, including ERP/MRP systems or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning and constraint management, inventory and lead times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced excel or data analysis skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • High level of attention to detail and thorough completion of work tasks.

Pay Rate: The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
