Position Overview:
The primary purpose is to provide spiritual, religious and pastoral care to residents, family members, and employees, in accordance with our established policies and procedures as directed by the Executive Director.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, coordinate and conduct regular scheduled religious services for residents.
- Provide Pastoral Care to residents, family members, employees as necessary.
- Perform sacraments (Holy Communion, Baptism) as requested.
- Act as a liaison between staff and resident’s family/friends during periods of crisis and adjustment.
- Plan and maintain a visitation program for new residents.
- Inform the resident’s Pastor of resident living here as requested by resident.
- Assist dying residents to meet their needs, carry out their desires, and preserve their dignity through empathy, understanding and cooperation.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information to assure rights are protected.
- Review Pastoral Care programs at least annually to assure objectives are being met. Make necessary changes.
- Interpret policies and procedures to residents, families, volunteers, visitors, and staff as needed.
- Attend and participate in continuing education events to keep current in knowledge and changes in practice.
- Report all observed incidents or accidents, complaints, grievances, and hazardous conditions to administrator of facility.
Basic Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve on various committees of the facility.
- Maintain good working relationship with other staff.
- Make report to CEO as requested.
- Assist in establishing a budget for Pastoral Care
- Others as deemed necessary and appropriate as directed by CEO.
Education Required: Must be an Ordained Minister.
Experience Required: 2-5 years experience preferred.
