Upholsterer (Experienced)

A St. Louis-based (downtown) manufacturer is seeking an individual for an upholstery position. Qualified candidates will have two years of experience and be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, or kneel for a significant portion of a shift. Will also be able to lift and walk up to 50 feet with 35 lbs. and use hands and fingers extensively to manipulate tools and fasteners. Experience in upholstering framed seating is a plus!

 Principal Responsibilities:

• Manually attaches covering material and padding to a booth to complete the upholstery of the inside back, outside backs, and sub-bases.
• Manually applies covering material (pneumatic tacker) to bases, frame subbases, or frame skirts.
• Upholsters all styles of sprung seats on an Upholstery Press.  Upholsters smooth inside back pads and seat pads.  Applies welt to seats and inside backs.
• Assembles, upholsters, and /or applies welt to all top caps, end panels, and gallery styles; upholsters head rolls, booth outside back panels, crumb strips, and waiting settees.
• Assembles booth components (seats, frames, bases, trim parts, etc.) into a finished product.  May prepare and pack the finished product for shipping.
