Summary
The Facilities Construction Crew Member is responsible for assisting in the construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities and infrastructure at Icy Strait Point. This year-round role supports projects that ensure our buildings, docks, and grounds are safe, functional, and well-maintained to meet operational and guest service needs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on construction skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform construction, carpentry, and repair tasks for facilities, docks, and infrastructure.
- Assist with site preparation, demolition, framing, and finishing work as needed.
- Operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely and responsibly.
- Support seasonal and year-round projects, including new construction, remodeling, and maintenance.
- Follow work orders and project plans as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
- Assist with snow removal, groundskeeping, and general facilities upkeep as required.
- Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to complete projects on time and to quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions year-round.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Frequent bending, standing, climbing, and working at heights required.
- Ability to operate power tools, heavy equipment, and vehicles as trained and authorized.
- Flexible to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, carpentry, or facilities maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of basic construction practices, hand and power tools, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, work orders, and project plans.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
