With minimal supervision from but regular status updates provided to Electrical & Instrumentation Manager, assign and oversee work, train and mentor hourly workers who install, maintain, upgrade and repair electrical, Instrument and air conditioning systems across the Noranda Alumina facility.  Provide leadership in the areas of housekeeping, safety, cost control, equipment troubleshooting and planning. 


Essential Functions: 

•Train, monitor and report on hourly workers performance to safety, environmental and quality policies / procedures / standards. 

•Review, monitor, and report on timely maintenance of faulty system wiring and electrical assemblies by electricians. 

•Prepare schedules and assign jobs to maximize manpower utilization.  Review employee time sheets and job reports for documentation on Daily Accountability Sheet (DAS). 

•Provide training to hourly workers on proper use of maintenance equipment and Mining Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) standards.

  

Minimum Qualification:

Two year technical degree in electrical technology or equivalent, 15 years experience in an industrial plant, and 1 year experience in supervision of electricians. Superior troubleshooting skills, VFD programming experience, knowledgeable concerning 15KV safety and management of switchgear, power generation, and PLC programming skills. Support MSHA compliance throughout the facility. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor level degree in Electrical Engineering with 15 years experience in an industrial plant and 5 years experience in supervision of electricians.
