Location: Icy Strait Point – Hoonah, Alaska
Type: Full-Time | Year-Round
Pay: 80,000-100,000 DOE + Housing Options Available
Are you a skilled mechanic with leadership experience? Ready to spend your season working in one of Alaska’s most breathtaking locations? Icy Strait Point is seeking a Lead Mechanic / Service Manager to oversee and perform maintenance on our fleet of vehicles and equipment while leading a small team of mechanics.
⚙️ What You’ll Do:
Lead daily operations of the mechanic team
Perform hands-on diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance
Maintain service schedules and ensure all vehicles meet DOT and internal safety standards
Support transportation and operations teams with quick response to mechanical issues
Keep maintenance logs, manage inventory, and coordinate with vendors
👷 What You’ll Bring:
5+ years of mechanical experience (diesel/gas engines, hydraulics, electrical, etc.)
2+ years in a lead or supervisory role
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
Ability to work in a dynamic, outdoor environment
