Job Title: Senior Accountant/FP&A

Reports To: Accounting Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

COMPENSATION: $95 - $110K

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant/FP&A is a key member of the Finance team responsible for supporting general ledger accounting and monthly close activities and assist financial planning, analysis, and forecasting. This role bridges financial operations and strategic planning, ensuring accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting skills, analytical expertise and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

General Ledger & Close (Primary Focus)

  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare accruals, allocations, and adjusting entries
  • Assist with audit schedules and external auditor requests
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Controls & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Help strengthen segregation of duties and internal controls
  • Identify and recommend process improvements
  • Assist in documentation of accounting procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and/or FP&A experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modeling, etc.)
  • ERP and nonprofit experience required
  • Implementation experience (preferred)
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
