The Opportunity
We are looking for a high-energy, strategically-minded Market Manager to spearhead our Texas operations. This isn't just a desk job—you are the "General Manager" of your market. You will lead local crews and subcontractors, manage regional P&L, and ensure our fiber optic utility projects are executed with "first-class" precision. This position reports to the Construction Manager and represents an excellent opportunity to join an active, well-funded team, gain valuable experience, and advance your career as GRC grows.
Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Lead the "full lifecycle" of fiber construction projects, from initial site walk-throughs to final client hand-off and as-builts.
- P&L Management: Responsible for the financial health of the Texas market, including labor costs, material tracking, and project margin optimization.
- Subcontractor Leadership: Identify, vet, and manage third-party crews, ensuring they adhere to GRC’s production schedules and safety standards.
- Safety & Compliance: Oversee the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) process and ensure all sites maintain rigorous traffic control and excavation safety protocols.
- Resource Coordination: Manage local fleet, inventory, and equipment logistics to ensure crews have the tools needed to maintain peak production.
- Production Tracking: Monitor daily footage yields (trenching, boring, and placement) and provide detailed reporting to the Director of Operations.
- Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for Texas municipalities, utility owners, and clients regarding permitting and right-of-way access.
- Recruitment & Mentoring: Actively participate in hiring and developing a local workforce of Construction Specialists and Operators.
Required Qualifications
- Management Experience: 3–5 years leading teams in Underground Utilities, Telecom, or Heavy Civil Construction.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of fiber optic infrastructure (HDD, trenching, and splicing) and restoration standards.
- Safety: Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and trenching/shoring safety requirements.
- Driver’s License: Must have a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Flexibility: On-call and weekend availability to manage project emergencies or deadlines.
- Travel: Ability to travel extensively throughout the Texas market to visit active job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- FTTH/FTTX Experience: Specific experience in Fiber-to-the-Home deployments.
- Class A CDL: Highly preferred for overseeing equipment mobilization.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business, or related field (or equivalent field experience).
- Software Proficiency: Experience with GIS mapping, project management tools (Zoho/Procore), and Google Suite.
Additional Information
Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 Salary, based on experience
Schedule: Day Shift: Monday - Friday & Night Shift: Sunday - Thursday
Travel Requirements: 100% (Regional travel within Texas)

The pay range for this role is:
85,000 - 110,000 USD per year(Texas)
