Only Priority Placement Program participant applications will be added to the candidate pool.The Solid Waste Division (SWD) is looking for a Supervising Engineer who will lead the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill (CHRLF) engineering and design efforts, the environmental engineering and geology work, and environmental permit compliance in the final decades leading up to closing of CHRLF and the work that will be done post closure. This position supervises a team of 10 dedicated professionals who oversee project engineering, project management, operational support, environmental compliance, and landfill design through multiple consultants for CHRLF.About this Role:As SWD comes into the development of the final cell for CHRLF, you will provide oversight, direction, and support to your team who are subject matter experts for the design and construction of over a dozen concurrent projects valued at $500M within a seven-year time window. In addition, your team will provide engineering and project management for capital improvement projects in the $750K to $1M range, as well as operational engineering support for landfill gas systems, wastewater systems, groundwater monitoring networks, and daily landfill placement systems. Your team also provides the implementation for and reporting of environmental regulatory rules that apply to CHRLF.  This position performs work both remotely and on-site.  About the Team:The Facility Engineering and Science Section (FESS) is a critical member of the King County Solid Waste Division (SWD) team.
