Description:

Responsible to the Central Market Manager as floor supervisor on duty at the Central Market. Shift hours may vary between 6am-2pm, 8:30am-5pm and 12pm-8:30pm for weekdays with rotating weekend shifts. 

  • Supervise and train students and full-time staff during meal prep, open hours and closing procedures.
  • Ensure all food lines meet regulatory standards for temperature control, sanitation, and cleanliness by maintaining continuous awareness of all areas. 
  • Set up, clean and prepare facilities and equipment for upcoming meals.
  • Assist with planning and execution of special events at the Central Market.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures including locking doors, shutting down machines, turning off lights and managing cash drawers.
  • Participate in a rotating weekend schedule as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise and make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure staff operate safely and communicate concerns or incidents to the appropriate manager when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Training beyond high school or equivalent experience plus 1-2 years dining service experience not limited to a restaurant or a similar setting.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs. and stand up to four hours. Food service sanitation training required. 
  • Shift hours may vary, including evenings, rotating weekends, and college closure periods.
