About this position
Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for supporting the Quality Assurance team by performing clerical duties and support activities.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Perform a review of all QA/Production documentation for accuracy and completeness identifying any patterns or trends.
- Responsible for filing all documentation in an organized manner.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain necessary raw material and supplier approval documentation.
- Verifying the completion and accuracy of receiving documentation.
- Ensuring all applicable fields are populated within ERP system.
- Releasing raw materials from QA hold once the supplier documentation has been received and reviewed.
- Actively participate in the food safety team and release finished products from CCP's / product holds.
- Maintain the APHIS export approval process at NFD ensuring products can be exported appropriately.
- Review production run analytical data and compare to customers specifications and GA’s. Communicate any deviations to the QA Manger.
- Maintain QA documentation such as finished product specifications, raw material specifications and other documents as necessary.
Additional responsibilities
- Transport QA and other related samples to external delivery points when necessary.
- The completion of sample submission documentation (when necessary)
- In conjunction with the QA Manager and the Lead QA Tech, order QA supply items.
- Maintain and replenish blank processing documents as needed.
- Assisting the QA Department with additional duties as needed
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- QA Experience in food manufacturing
- FSMA Trained
- SQF Training or experience would be beneficial.
- Proven work experience as an Administrative Assistant, Receptionist, or related position
- Highly professional
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Strong organizational skills
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal direction
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product
- Ability to meet and establish deadlines
- Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

This job operates within a professional office and plant manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job inside the office, the employee is frequently exposed to normal working conditions for an office environment with a noise level that is usually quiet to moderate. While performing duties of this job inside and outside the manufacturing plant, the employee is frequently exposed to normal working conditions of a food manufacturing facility with a noise level that is usually moderate to loud. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets, as well as laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. On occasion, employee must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.
Occasionally while performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including grain dust and hazardous materials or fumes, which may require the use of PPE. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extended seasonal hours, high precarious places, and confined spaces. The noise level in some of the work environments may require the use of hearing protection.
