Job Summary:
The Greenhouse restaurant is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Food Runner to support restaurant operations by ensuring accurate and timely delivery of food from the kitchen to guests. The Food Runner plays a critical role in maintaining service flow, upholding presentation standards, and enhancing the overall dining experience through teamwork and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests promptly and accurately
Verify each dish against the ticket to ensure order accuracy, modifications, and presentation standards
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to maintain smooth service flow
Assist servers with table maintenance, including clearing plates and resetting tables as needed
Ensure food is served at proper temperatures and according to plating guidelines
Respond promptly to guest requests and relay additional needs to the appropriate server
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and expo areas
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
Support opening and closing side work duties as assigned
Assist with stocking supplies, condiments, and service items throughout the shift
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred but not required
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
