Position Summary
The Regional Manager (RM) provides operational leadership and direct oversight for a portfolio of assigned practices, including both Office Managers and Practice Leaders. This role drives operational consistency, financial performance, and leadership development across multiple locations with varied complexity. The RM applies advanced financial and business acumen to manage performance outcomes, allocate resources, and support practice leaders in achieving revenue, EBITDA, and operational goals. The RM partners closely with Doctor Owners, Practice Leaders, and Office Managers, serving as the key link between the field and the Regional Manager of Operations, and works cross-functionally with corporate teams to implement company initiatives and ensure compliance with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Leadership & Coaching
Provide direct oversight and coaching to Office Managers and Practice Leaders across assigned practices.
Support leadership development and succession planning to prepare OMs for Practice Leader roles and Practice Leaders for expanded responsibilities.
Serve as a first-line advisor for operational, financial, staffing, scheduling, collections, and compliance matters.
Conduct regular site visits to assess operational health and leadership performance.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance across all assigned locations.
Financial Management & Performance Oversight
Maintain full financial accountability for assigned portfolio, including revenue growth, expense control, and EBITDA achievement.
Conduct advanced KPI analysis, forecasting, and variance management across multiple locations.
Identify portfolio-level performance trends and develop action plans to address gaps.
Collaborate with Doctor Owners and practice leaders to optimize scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to meet financial goals.
Operational Excellence & Standardization
Lead implementation of IDS programs, systems, and protocols at the portfolio level.
Ensure consistent adherence to scheduling structures, collections processes, and administrative workflows.
Adapt operational strategies to accommodate varied practice sizes, specialties, and market conditions while maintaining standardization.
Facilitate best-practice sharing to drive continuous improvement.
Performance Monitoring & Planning
Review portfolio performance against production, revenue, and EBITDA targets, providing targeted coaching and operational solutions.
Lead portfolio-level planning to align practice schedules, staffing plans, and marketing activities with growth objectives.
Develop and implement performance improvement plans in collaboration with the RMO.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure all assigned practices maintain compliance with IDS operational policies, OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, ACA, and state dental board regulations.
Oversee multi-site compliance training, reporting, and inspection readiness.
Partner with HR and other corporate departments to resolve complex employee relations matters.
Cross Functional Collaboration
Partner with corporate teams (Performance, HR, RCM, Procurement, Marketing, IT) to align practice operations with company objectives.
Serve as the primary liaison between field leaders and corporate departments to streamline communication and ensure smooth program execution.
Qualifications
3+ years of multi-site dental or healthcare management experience, preferably with both single-site and multi-site leadership.
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding financial and operational goals.
Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop high-performing teams.
Advanced financial acumen, including KPI analysis, forecasting, and portfolio variance management.
Proficiency in practice management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and reporting tools.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to varied operational models.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Work Environment, Expectations & Travel
Practice Leaders are expected to be dressed in business casual attire (e.g., slacks/khakis, dress shirts/blouses, skirts/dresses, closed-toe shoes), or in accordance with the published dress code of the practice location.
This position is full-time, onsite at the practice location.
Must be able to work at a desk, on a computer, for extended periods of time.
Occasional travel for training or regional meetings (up to 10%).
