The Spanish Teacher is a passionate educator responsible for instructing students in Spanish language and culture from introductory (Level I) through advanced (Level V) high school levels. This role requires the design of a comprehensive, classically inspired curriculum that fosters linguistic proficiency while maintaining a Christ-centered classroom environment. The successful candidate will embody the “Warrior Way,” integrating Biblical principles into daily instruction and nurturing the academic and spiritual growth of a diverse student body.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Integrate Biblical principles and perspectives throughout the Spanish curriculum; lead and participate in prayer during classes and staff meetings. 
  • Design and deliver engaging, effective instructional activities for Spanish I through Spanish V.
  • Facilitate lessons based on approved curriculum and Standards for Foreign Language Learning
  • Develop lesson plans that integrate specific competencies, goals, and objectives, utilizing diverse resources that reflect the varied backgrounds of our students.
  • Tailor instruction to accommodate various learning styles and proficiency levels, ensuring all students are challenged and supported. 
  • Maintain a positive, Christ-centered climate using approved disciplinary procedures and “Warrior Way” messaging to encourage positive behaviors. 
  • Maintain an accurate online grade book, grade assignments promptly, and perform other administrative duties with high attention to detail.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, staff, and leadership regarding student progress and classroom initiatives.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, families, and internal school matters.
  • Facilitate lessons based on approved curriculum and Standards for Foreign Language Learning. 
  • Proficiency in Spanish language.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university in Spanish, Education, or a related field required.
  • Two or more years of classroom teaching experience at the high school level is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish language (Advanced or Superior level) and cultural history. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of standing and speaking to a class.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Frequent use of computer technology and interactive whiteboards.
