White Sands Treatment Center of Tampa is a leading behavioral health and substance use treatment provider committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to support adults through recovery and stabilization in a structured, therapeutic environment. 


The Counselor is responsible for providing direct clinical services to adult patients, including psychosocial assessments, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and treatment planning. This role works closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to support patient progress from admission through discharge while maintaining compliance with all clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards. 

Requirements:

 

  • Conduct psychosocial and chemical dependency assessments
     
  • Facilitate 10–15 group therapy sessions per week and develop group curricula
     
  • Provide individual counseling sessions as needed
     
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to Master Treatment Plans
     
  • Assist with discharge planning and coordination of care
     
  • Perform crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary
     
  • Complete all clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes
     
  • Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of clinical records
     
  • Collaborate effectively with staff, patients, families, and external partners
     
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development
     
  • Adhere to all company policies, Joint Commission standards, and applicable laws

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (required)
     

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting
     
  • Experience with adult populations required
     
  • Inpatient or partial hospitalization experience preferred
     

Licensure / Certification

  • Licensed, license-eligible, or Certified Addiction Counselor in the State of Florida (preferred)
     

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of psychotherapeutic techniques and psychopathology
     
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
     
  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality laws and clinical documentation standards
     
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
     
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills




Salary Information

$54000.00 - $58000.00 Annual Salary
