Job Summary
Hilton Anchorage is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions for a large, full-service union hotel in downtown Anchorage. This role is responsible for recruitment, employee relations, labor relations, compliance, benefits administration, and training for a workforce that expands to 100+ employees during peak season.
The ideal candidate has the ability to support both operational leaders and hourly team members in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with union agreements, Hilton standards, and Alaska labor laws.
Key Responsibilities
Labor & Employee Relations

Serve as primary HR contact for all team members and department leaders

Manage employee relations, coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution

Support union labor relations and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements

Coordinate with union representatives regarding grievances, discipline, and contract interpretation

Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional work environment aligned with Hilton values
Recruitment & Staffing

Lead full-cycle recruitment for all hotel positions (front desk, housekeeping, engineering, F&B, admin, etc.)

Develop seasonal hiring strategies to support peak summer staffing

Conduct interviews, extend offers, and coordinate onboarding

Maintain job postings on Indeed and other platforms

Support J1 visa coordination and seasonal workforce planning as needed
Onboarding, Training & Development

Facilitate new hire orientation and brand onboarding

Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards and required trainings

Support leadership development and departmental training initiatives

Maintain training records and certifications
Payroll, Benefits & Compliance

Partner with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate processing of payroll and benefits

Administer benefits enrollment, leave management, and workers compensation

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including Alaska labor regulations

Maintain HR files, I-9 compliance, and personnel records

Support audits and prepare required reports
HR Operations & Administration

Maintain employee handbook and policies

Support performance management and annual reviews

Track attendance, disciplinary actions, and documentation

Prepare HR reports for leadership (turnover, staffing levels, etc.)

Partner with department leaders on workforce planning and scheduling compliance
