Evaluates plans, directs and administers programs of physical therapy patient care according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. The Physical Therapy Staff, in addition to services provided by the Physical Therapy Department as described in the scope of care, receives education regarding the following Age Specific Standards, as appropriate. The therapist’s’ goal is to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability, in order to maximize quality of life
Requirements:Education:
- BS degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school of Physical Therapy
- Physical Therapy licensed issued by the state of North Carolina.
- BLS certification
Experience:
- Three (3) years of experience as a Physical Therapist
Functions of the Position (not an exhaustive list):
- Provide educational information about physical therapy and physical therapists, injury prevention, ergonomics and ways to promote health
- Review physician’s referral and patient’s medical records to help determine diagnosis and physical therapy treatment
- Evening and weekend work may be required in order to provide prescribed treatment plan
- Plan, implement and evaluate patient care programs through the use of selected physical therapy procedures and tests; direct and aid patients in therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education and functional training
- Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function and maintain maximum performance by the use of such means as therapeutic exercise and modalities
- Confer with the patient, medical practitioners, and appropriate others to plan implement, assess the intervention program and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care
