Utility Steward

Position Description: The Outlook at Windhaven is a senior living community in Plano, TX, and part of the Forefront Living family. As a Utility Steward you are responsible for transporting food carts to and from residents units. In this position you dish room operations, night cleaning, back area cleaning and equipment's maintenance, banquet plating and food running. Supervise the sanitation, cleanliness, hygiene as well as the quality level of product and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, and co-workers.
• Set up dish machine.
• Transport food carts to and from resident units
• Deliver special request items to units as needed (i.e., missed trays, puree vs. regular tray, different food preparations)
• Break down dishes from food carts if assigned.
• Rinse, pre-wash, rack and send dishes through dish machine if assigned.
• Pull dishes in dish room and put dishes in designed areas if assigned.
• Take out trash.
• Sweep and mop floors in kitchen and dish room areas and back door areas.
• Complete daily cleaning assignments as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist with tray line as needed or assigned.
• Assist with serving food in the dining room to residents as needed or assigned.
• Keep up temperature record for dish machine.
• Keep records updated on all kitchen cleaning buckets.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Have six months experience in dish room or sanitation work environment.

• Genuine caring for and interest in the care of seniors, including those with cognitive deficits.
• Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English
• Ability to work independently; able to establish priorities and deadlines

• Ability to organize work flow and document timely and accurately
• Ability to acquire new knowledge to perform additional or more difficult tasks

• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team, to share information freely, to use and seek supervision and consultation verbally and in writing, and to be able to follow both verbal and written instructions

$15.50 - $16.00 Hourly Wage
