Position Summary:
Our Network team plays a critical role in ensuring seamless operations and delivering world-class service. As a Network Operations Centre (NOC) Specialist, Level 2, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing Beanfield’s network infrastructure.
If you thrive on troubleshooting complex software and hardware issues, and you’re passionate about physical and logical network infrastructures, this role is for you. Your expertise in routing, switching, optical, and security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, NAT, and open-source monitoring and security platforms, will be essential in supporting the stability, performance, and reliability of our network.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead complex, high-impact network projects with cross-functional teams.
Drive innovation in network design, optimization, and performance.
Provide strategic network insights and updates to senior management.
Ensure the day-to-day operation and stability of Beanfield’s network.
Monitor network systems and infrastructure to maintain high performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently and effectively.
Implement software installation and pre-configuration for new network device deployments.
Coordinate and schedule software upgrades on existing network devices.
Execute procedures to ensure network stability before, during, and after maintenance or upgrade activities.
Establish and maintain peering sessions with network partners.
Maintain and update network documentation, processes, and configurations.
Oversee vendor support requests and collaborate with external partners as needed.
Ensure proper operation and calibration of test equipment.
Validate configuration change requests prior to implementation.
Follow established Incident and Change Management processes.
Act as a first responder (24/7) to any network instability events.
Mentor and coach peers to support team growth and knowledge sharing.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma with post-secondary degree or diploma in network security and/or administration
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in networking
- Excellent network skills with LAN, WAN and Core networks
- Expertise in LANX, Wave and Peering services
- Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Arista devices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Collaborates well with team and cross functional team members
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to participate in an on- call rotation
- Bilingual (French & English) is an asset
