AHMG Dermatologist
SUMMARY: The physician will provide dermatology services for Alameda Health System, under employment from Alameda Health Medical Group. Services will be on-site at Highland Hospital, San Leandro Hospital and Alameda Hospital.
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled dermatologist to join our medical group, focusing on providing high-quality dermatologic care to our patients at Alameda Health System. The ideal candidate will combine clinical expertise with a passion for community outreach, health education, and research aimed at addressing dermatological health disparities in our diverse patient population.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
1. Provide comprehensive dermatologic care to diverse, underserved patient populations in both outpatient and inpatient settings
2. Participate in teledermatology via e-consults and curbside consults
3. Supervise and mentor medical students and residents
4. Develop and implement culturally sensitive treatment plans
5. Participate in curriculum development for internal medicine and emergency medicine education programs
6. Contribute to departmental and institutional committees
7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex cases
8. Participate in institutional quality improvement initiatives
9. Conduct community outreach programs to increase dermatology awareness and access
10. Establish and maintain partnerships with local primary care providers for improved referral systems
11. Develop patient education materials tailored to diverse literacy levels and languages
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited medical school
Required: Board Eligible or Board Certified in dermatology
Required Licenses/Certifications: Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.
Valid DEA license
Strong interest in community health and serving underserved populations
Commitment to health equity and addressing healthcare disparities
Cultural competency and experience working with diverse patient groups
Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish) highly desirable
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to various education levels
Excellent clinical skills and patient-centered care approach
Familiarity with safety-net healthcare systems and related challenges highly desirable.
The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization. Alameda Health System also offers eligible positions a generous comprehensive benefits program.
Rate - $237.81 per shift
