About the Role:

The Vet Technician plays a critical role in supporting veterinarians by providing high-quality medical care to animals in a clinical setting. This position involves performing a variety of technical tasks such as collecting samples, administering medications, and assisting during surgeries to ensure the well-being and recovery of animal patients. The Vet Technician also educates pet owners on proper animal care, treatment plans, and preventive health measures, fostering a compassionate and informative environment. Attention to detail and strong observational skills are essential to monitor animal health and respond promptly to any changes or emergencies. Ultimately, the Vet Technician contributes significantly to the overall success of the veterinary practice by combining medical expertise with empathetic client communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care including dental and surgical procedures
  • Able to accurately perform laboratory tests and radiographic studies
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
  • Proficient in venipuncture (phlebotomy and IV catheter placement)
  • Safely perform the induction, monitoring, and recovery of surgical patients
  • Educate clients on animal care, wellness, and preventative care
  • Maintain medical records with accuracy and professionalism
  • Qualifications:

  • Licensed Veterinary Technicians are preferred, but  students graduating soon from a AVMA accredited school are encouraged to apply
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication/customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
