About the Role:
Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and operational continuity of all organizational sites. This role oversees building maintenance, vendor coordination, regulatory compliance, safety programs, and preventive maintenance activities across operational sites. The Facilities Manager ensures compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, environmental, and healthcare-related requirements while supporting leadership and staff with responsive, high-quality facility services.The Facilities Manager upholds Camino Health Center’s core values of Service, Dignity, Excellence, and Justice in all responsibilities, interactions, and decisions.
Essential FunctionsFacilities Operations & Maintenance- Oversee daily facility operations across all organizational sites to ensure environments remain safe, functional, clean, and operational.
- Manage and execute preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, fire alarm and suppression systems, security and access control systems, lighting, water systems, and waste management.
- Coordinate and supervise vendors and contractors across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, janitorial, landscaping, fire life safety, and other building systems.
- Conduct regular site inspections and address deficiencies, hazards, and improvement needs.
- Oversee the functionality of medical and operational equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Maintain inventories of facility equipment, supplies, and tools.
Safety, Security & Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, Fire Marshal requirements, NFPA codes, Title 22 healthcare facility standards, ADA accessibility standards, and other applicable regulations.
- Support the Emergency Operations Plan and participate in required safety and emergency response drills.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and documentation of hazardous materials.
- Monitor access control systems and collaborate with security partners.
- Respond to urgent facility and safety issues, including after-hours emergencies when required.
- Manage vendor relationships, contractor performance, service agreements, and project timelines.
- Oversee small to medium facility projects, including renovations, equipment upgrades, and space planning.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, inspection documentation, and service records.
- Assist in developing and managing the facilities budget, purchasing needs, and cost-efficient maintenance plans.
Administrative, Communication & Coordination
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and site inspection documentation.
- Oversee storage areas, inventory systems, and facility-related supplies.
- Coordinate facility purchasing and support budget tracking
- Serve as the primary point of contact for facility needs across operational sites.
- Provide timely updates to leadership regarding facility issues, project status, and safety matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure operational continuity.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility operations, building systems management, or maintenance oversight.
- Broad knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, facility safety practices, and compliance.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to on-call emergencies when required.
- Ability to travel between organizational sites; a valid CA driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification; knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations.
- Experience in healthcare or a regulated, multi-site environment.
- Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) are a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is desirable.
