About this position

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in construction accounting and with vendors.
  • Support all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, project accounting and financial reporting.
  • Review and reconcile cash and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting with focus on construction industry.
  • Track and manage project-related costs, including labor, materials, subcontractor, and equipment costs.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and senior management to provide financial insights and support in decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with construction industry accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to interpret construction contracts, lien releases, notice to owners, and other pertinent construction documents.
  • Familiarity with construction accounting software.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations applicable to the construction industry.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Proficiency in using spreadsheets and other accounting tools for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
