About this position
The Village is seeking temporary summer seasonal employees to support Public Works maintenance operations during the summer months. These positions provide general assistance to a variety of crews, with duties including street and tree maintenance, pothole patching, storm sewer cleaning and related infrastructure maintenance, as well as support in the auto shop and Village facilities.
Salary/ How to Apply
Hourly Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 per/hour, depending on experience. No fringe benefits, and not IMRF eligible.

Requirements:Prior experience in a Public Works department or similar maintenance setting is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for the safe and effective use of vehicles, equipment, and tools necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Seasonal employees typically work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for a total of 40 hours per week. The summer season generally runs from mid- to late May through September, with some flexibility in start and end dates.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
