Controls Electrician - CLOSED
Department: Facilities
Reports To: Facilities Manager/Facilities Supervisor
Days/Hours: Days / Evenings / Weekends, OT as needed
Compensation: Hourly
Location: Leamington, ON
The Role:
Reporting to the Facilities Manager or designate, the Control Electrician will be responsible to maintain the processing and packaging equipment as well as perform various tasks within all areas of the facility, including but not limited to the greenhouse ranges, offices and outside.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to adhere to and maintain and promote a positive company culture.
- Read and follow all company SOP’s.
- Create and properly document records of inspections, maintenance routines and repairs.
- Working with electronic control systems including microprocessors, sensors, and final control elements used in automated processes.
- Conduct instrumentation evaluation and troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, electronic as well as programmable logic control (PLC) systems.
- Ensure to commission instrumentation effective following with repair and replacement.
- Conduct test related to functional performance on instrumentation as needed by facility changes.
- Measuring levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes.
- Testing instrumentation and control systems and maintaining test equipment • Coordinating crew activities as required and maintaining records and files.
- Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Repairing and adjusting system components or removing and replacing defective parts.
- Follows blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to conform to the building and safety codes
- Operate machinery such as a forklift or scissor lift.
- Assist in multiple areas within the Maintenance department to ensure repairs (scheduled, unscheduled or emergency) are completed.
- Track all machinery repairs, request for repairs and preventive maintenance within the CMMS system.
- Advise on required repair parts with technical details.
- Obtain repair and repair parts quotes from outside Vendors.
- Submit Purchase Order Requests (POR) for processing.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Comply with all GPP/GMP requirements when working on equipment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple work streams.
- Must be a team player with the ability to work and lead in a fast-paced environment with multi-functional groups.
- Other duties that the Company may assign from time to time.
Requirements:
- 309A and/or 442 Electrical Certificate.
- Previous PLC experience.
- Previous experience working in a Cannabis facility is an asset.
- Previous experience working within a greenhouse setting is preferred.
- High level troubleshooting abilities
- Understanding of GPP’s.
- Able to perform tedious/repetitive tasks with a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Previous forklift or scissor lift experience an asset.
- Safety boots required.
- Successful candidates will be asked to provide a general police clearance.
- Reliable transportation is required. There is no public transit available.
