About this position

Dynamic contract manufacturing company looking for a motivated sales professional to join our growing team in a key outside Sales role focused on generating opportunities for precision Machining, Stamping, and Tooling lines of business. The role will be a blend of both inside and outside sales responsibilities, but heavily focused on prospecting, and creating opportunities through strong relationships.


The position will be heavily on identifying and qualifying new customers, interfacing with new or potential customers and leading qualification processes; some account management of existing customers to achieve core growth goals will be expected. This role will strongly influence the customer experience and relationship model between operations and key customers. Travel expected to fluctuate with business needs and opportunties but will likely fall between near 30% and may flucuate week to week; regional specifics to be developed, and may lean into a national presence.

This role will not have direct responsibiltiy for other sales team members immediately, but will play an integral role in a developing line of business and be expected to form close relationships with our operations leaders.


Ideal candidates with have at least 3 years' experience in an outside or inside sales role within a manufacturing or an industrial environment.

Position Accountable For:

  • Front line sales generation, customer facing service and qualification
  • Assist in identifying, targeting, carving out key markets aligning sales strategies with business strengths
  • Create, lead with a relationship, customer experience first sales approach
  • Leveraging industry connections and company strengths to target core
  • Apply CRM and company sales processes to improve opportunity qualification and the customer experience
  • Lead proactive collaboration on quotation opportunities with estimators, and operations to align customer needs with sales goals and capacity, and leverage opportunities to fruition
  • Travel as needed: 30%-40% locally and nationally

Requirements

Required:

  • 3 or more years sales experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferrably with exposure to selling within a precision Machining, Stamping, or Tooling environment.
  • Ability to travel up 30-40% locally or nationallys
  • Must excel at, and enjoy, relationship building
  • Have mechanical and maufacturing aptitude

Preferred:

  • Experience in sales roles that with blended inside and outside sales responsibilities
  • Natural ability to lead with commitment to strong values, partnership & customer experience mentality
  • Formal sales training in Sandler or other sales methodologies
  • Willingness to dive into day-to-day sales, marketing activities, and quoting activities as needed to support customers, team, and operations
