About the Role
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will join The Doctor’s growing mental health team, supporting our mission to make care accessible, affirming, and human. You’ll work in a hybrid model—balancing in-person appointments at our Los Angeles clinic with telemedicine visits for patients across California. You’ll collaborate closely with our primary care, wellness, and behavioral health providers to deliver compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care in a modern, inclusive environment.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and follow-ups for adult patients.
- Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring safe and effective treatment plans.
- Deliver both in-person and virtual care while maintaining continuity and high-quality patient experience.
- Collaborate with the care team (primary care, therapy, and operations) to coordinate holistic treatment.
- Educate patients about their conditions, medications, and coping strategies.
- Maintain thorough clinical documentation and uphold all regulatory standards.
- Contribute to team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and a culture of empathy and innovation.
Qualifications
- Active California Nurse Practitioner license with PMHNP certification (PMHNP-BC).
- DEA license with prescriptive authority.
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed and LGBTQ+-affirming care.
- Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and adaptability in both virtual and in-person settings.
- Tech-friendly and comfortable using EHR and telehealth platforms.
- Passionate about inclusive, patient-centered healthcare and improving access to mental health services.
The pay range for this role is:
150,000 - 200,000 USD per year(The Doctor WeHo)
