PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Bartender at The Battery is responsible for providing exceptional experiences for members and guests through warm, intuitive, and personalized service. This role requires a deep understanding of spirits, wine, beer, and cocktails, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Bartenders are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of The Battery's bar program while embodying the club’s ethos of hospitality, creativity, and discretion. All work-related duties must be done onsite.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service & Hospitality
• Greet members and guests with warmth and professionalism.
• Accurately take and input food and beverage orders into the POS system.
• Execute cocktails and all beverages to the highest quality with speed, accuracy, and consistency.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all beverage offerings, including cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options.
• Provide recommendations and answer questions about the beverage program confidently and accurately.
• Ensure the bar maintains a clean, organized, and fully stocked setup throughout service.
• Provide attentive service and anticipate guest needs throughout their experience.
• Collaborate with floor staff and support team to ensure seamless service flow.
• Manage guest tabs with accuracy and ensure all transactions adhere to accounting procedures.
• Immediately report service concerns or guest feedback to the Bar Manager or MOD.
Product & Program Integrity
• Ensure that bar mise-en-place, tools, and service areas are fully prepared before and reset after each shift.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and organization throughout service, adhering to sanitation and health guidelines.
• Monitor and maintain stock levels of spirits, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic ingredients based on par levels.
• Ensure wines by the glass, draft lines, and cocktails are served to the highest standards.
• Uphold cocktail spec standards for all drinks served, ensuring consistency, balance, and presentation as defined by the beverage leadership team.
• Participate in regular tastings and training to stay informed on menu changes and new product introductions.
• Assist with developing, testing, and executing seasonal or special cocktail menus as directed.
Teamwork & Communication
• Actively participate in daily service meetings and trainings.
• Support fellow bartenders and barbacks during peak hours and transitions.
• Share relevant product knowledge and service feedback with the team to enhance performance.
• Uphold and positively contribute to The Battery’s culture and service standards.
Operations & Accountability
• Ensure compliance with all health department, safety, and ABC regulations.
• Follow all opening, closing, and side work procedures as directed by management.
• Attend all mandatory staff meetings and scheduled trainings.
• Participate in inventory counts and restocking efforts as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Bar Manager or F&B leadership team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years bartending experience in upscale casual or fine dining environments.
• Extensive knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.
• Ability to perform light barback duties.
• Must possess or obtain a valid Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods (8+ hours).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining composure in high-volume situations.
• Proficiency in POS systems (Toast preferred) and basic computer skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and late nights.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including loud music, low lighting, fluctuating temperatures, and crowded spaces.
• Ability to maneuver freely behind the bar and throughout the property.
• Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, and walking for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to perceive and respond to guest cues using sight, sound, and speech.
Salary: $19.18 + tips
Shift: Weekend - Flexible
