Were looking for a dedicated Psychiatric Safety Officer to join our
team and help ensure a safe, secure, and supportive environment for individuals
in our care. This role is vital to the wellbeing of both individuals and staff,
combining vigilance, compassion, and professionalism to keep our facility safe
inside and out.
What Youll Do
- Ensure
security throughout the facility, including perimeter checks and internal
safety monitoring
- Supervise
and support individuals served, intervening when necessary to de-escalate
situations and prevent elopements
- Respond
to emergencies and assist staff in maintaining safety using established
intervention techniques
- Operate
and monitor communication and surveillance systems (alarms, CCTV, radios,
and more)
- Conduct
searches of individuals, personal belongings, and facility areas for
contraband or unauthorized items
- Verify
visitor identification, monitor entry/exit points, and oversee vehicle
traffic on facility grounds
- Continuously
inspect facility areas for risks or hazardous conditions
Education
- High
school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience
- Must
meet minimum age requirements as defined by state certification/licensing
authority or contract (required)
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Suite (preferred)
