About the Role:

The Purchasing Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the procurement processes to ensure the organization acquires high-quality materials and services at the best possible cost. This position is responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with internal departments to align purchasing strategies with business objectives. The Purchasing Manager will lead efforts to streamline supply chain operations, reduce costs, and maintain optimal inventory levels to support uninterrupted production and service delivery. By analyzing market trends and supplier performance, the manager will identify opportunities for continuous improvement and risk mitigation. Ultimately, this role ensures that the company’s supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and responsive to changing business needs.

Qualifications:

    Knowledge of and familiarity with Food & Beverage products, retail merchandising, and Hospitality related goods and services. Knowledge of all departments, their functions, and needs. Prior hospitality or food & beverage experience preferred. Prior warehouse and purchasing experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred, equivalent experience may be considered. Must maintain current food handler’s certification. Valid Driver’s License required

Responsibilities:

    Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals and market conditions.Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing to achieve cost savings.Oversee the preparation and processing of purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.Collaborate with supply chain, inventory, and materials management teams to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or excess inventory.Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure quality, delivery, and service standards are met.Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain by diversifying suppliers and developing contingency plans.Lead cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and process improvements.Prepare reports and forecasts related to purchasing activities, budgets, and supplier performance for senior management.

Skills:

The Purchasing Manager utilizes supply chain management and materials management skills daily to coordinate procurement activities and maintain efficient inventory levels. Vendor negotiation skills are essential for securing favorable terms and building strong supplier partnerships that support cost reduction goals. Expertise in purchase order processing and supply management ensures timely and accurate acquisition of goods and services, preventing production delays. Inventory management skills help balance stock levels to meet operational demands without incurring excess costs. Supplier management capabilities enable the manager to monitor performance, address issues proactively, and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance overall supply chain effectiveness.
