About this position

Description:

 

  • Perform hot work cutting of wind turbine components and heavy steel using oxy-fuel torches and other specialized tools.
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures, including wearing required PPE.
  • Prepare materials for cutting by inspecting, cleaning, and staging work areas.
  • Identify and separate recyclable materials in accordance with project recycling plans.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors, spotters, and other crew members to coordinate safe operations.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs or malfunctions.
  • Assist with loading and unloading components for transport.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and materials processed.
  • Immediately report hazards, near misses, or incidents to the Site Superintendent.
Requirements:

 

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on machining processes.
  • Proficiency in operating various machinery, including but not limited to CNC laser cutting, welding, and fabrication tools.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Familiarity with tooling, assembly processes, and sheet metal work is preferred.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Experience with cranes for material handling is a plus.

Salary Information

$20.00 - $40.00 Hourly Wage
