About the role

The Yard Support Technician is responsible for supporting the Service Department through yard organization, equipment movement, and shop assistance. This is a hands on, physically active position that works primarily outdoors and involves frequent forklift operation and movement of heavy equipment.


What you'll do

Yard Operations & Equipment Handling

  • Operate a forklift approximately 50% of the workday to move, stage, and organize equipment.
  • Consistently move, reposition, and reorganize heavy equipment within the yard and service areas.
  • Unload incoming equipment and materials and transport to appropriate areas.
  • Maintain organization and proper staging of equipment for service and delivery.
  • Keep service bays, driveways, and yard areas clear and accessible at all times.
  • Clean equipment and vehicles as needed.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and secure grounds, yard, shop, and customer parking areas.
  • Follow all department safety practices and equipment handling procedures.

Shop & Service Department Support

  • Assist with equipment pre-delivery preparation and basic service tasks.
  • Support service technicians with equipment setup and movement.
  • Assist shipping and receiving as needed.
  • Perform general labor tasks in support of service operations.

Work Environment

  • Spend approximately 75% of the workday working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Regularly lift, move, push, and maneuver heavy equipment and materials.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.

Shop & Service Department Support

  • Assist with equipment pre-delivery preparation and basic service tasks.
  • Support service technicians with equipment setup and movement.
  • Assist shipping and receiving as needed.
  • Perform general labor tasks in support of service operations.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Previous Industry experience desired.
  • Forklift driving experience.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to understand, read and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be detailed orientated with demonstrated follow through and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of machines and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to equipment
