The Residential Support Supervisor is responsible for supervision of RSS activities in Key Works Long-term Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program and Recovery House. This position supervises the patients and ensures that patients’ needs are met during the assigned shift. It includes the oversight of assigned shift staff and the facility. The Patient Services Supervisor will be proficient in working and completing all RSS job responsibilities.


Shifts:  Day 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. 

              Graveyard 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contact the on-site or on-call clinician if patients request a premature discharge.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and patients.
  • Fill, schedule all assigned shift staffing gaps.
  • Recommend the purchase of patient supplies and facility needs.
  • Provide a variety of staff training across all shifts that includes, medication policy and procedure, Omnicare procedures, Cordant portal and UA policy and procedure, discharge procedure and policy, and Key Recovery policy for an emergency evacuation, follow up etc. Ensure that RSS staff have received training and are competent in all required compliance areas. Provides onboarding training for new RSS staff. as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring staff are trained and correctly conduct searches (i.e. rooms, one person, and drop-off items) aid as needed.
  • Ensure staff complete all Incident Reports prior to leaving the shift.
  • Provide paraprofessional supervision and integral support to our patients and support clinical policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate effective engagement skills with patients in treatment for substance use disorders recovery as well as possible co-occurring disorders.
  • Responsible for patient orientation, coordination of resident transportation, medical and court appointments and assign/oversee residential housekeeping duties.
  • Work closely with clinical staff to reinforce positive recovery goals for patients.
  • Responsible for overall safety and functioning of the facility on assigned shift. 
  • Complete facility rounds and submits maintenance requests for any unsafe items.
  • Model appropriate behavior in keeping with core values, communication, and dress code according to Key Recovery policies.
  • Provide superior customer services by demonstrating Key Recovery’s core values. 
  • Supervise staff in correctly completing shift logs or other communication and documentation timely and accurately and in accordance with all Key Recovery policy and procedure. Provide aid and staff training as needed. 
  • Execute other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties:  Work closely with the HR team to screen, interview, hire, and on-board new staff. Prepare the work schedule and ensure compliance with Key Works policy and procedure and 24/7 staffing needs. Fill, schedule and monitor any staffing gaps for assigned shifts. Provide required on-boarding, training, and staff development activities. Work with assigned staff to understand job expectations and requirements. Review and ensure staff have been trained and deemed competent to work the floor. Provide coaching and development activities for assigned staff and provide timely disciplinary action as appropriate and in keeping with all Key Recovery employment policy and procedure. Conduct staff evaluations and 90-day reviews.

Education and Experience:

  • AA Degree in substance use studies or similar field required and/or combination of relevant experience and education; Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or other similar field of study preferred.? 
  • Minimum 3 years of supervising employees in a residential healthcare work environment or other relevant experience required.
  • Must have experience working with patients who have SUD and co-occurring disorders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Reliable work attendance, willingness, and ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to maintain and uphold confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR, 45 CFR, and RCW 70.96A and related laws, as set forth in organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Must have experience in working with the patient population served.
  • Strong interpersonal skills while maintaining clear personal and professional boundaries.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work individually and cooperatively with others as an effective team member. 
  • Exercise good judgment and initiative in accordance with Key Recovery’s policies and procedures. 
  • Ability to remain professional with all patients, resident families, visitors, other agency staff, community service providers, co-workers, and community representatives.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems. 
  • General computer and EHR proficiency. 
  • CPR and First Aid required.

Staff in this position are required to: use both hands, hold and handle items and office equipment; speak clearly, listen carefully and occasionally lift to 40 pounds including moving beds, lift light furniture and baby cribs. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
