Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly dynamic Shipper/Receiver at our Lakeland, FL location who will provide excellent support to our production team. The Shipper/Receiver performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks. This team member will verify that materials received are as ordered and will route incoming items to the appropriate departments/locations. The Shipper/Receiver will prepare items for shipment, ensuring cost-effective services. This person will also be responsible for local driving duties, so a valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required. The schedule for this position will be M-F 7:00am-3:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
- Sort, count, measure, package, label, insure, unpack, and/or log inventory which is shipped or received.
- Inspect shipments for damage or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
- Make certain all items are properly identified by marking boxes or materials, as necessary, with job number(s) and Heat numbers.
- Deliver items to requisitioning departments.
- Enter material receipts in Epicor.
- Turn in purchase orders and packing slips to the accounting office daily.
- Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; select appropriate shipping container; pack items to ensure safe delivery.
- Check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination and routing are correct.
- Ensure all outgoing shipments are properly tagged and arranged for photographs, if required.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED.
- At least 2-3 years of proven experience of shipping and receiving materials.
- Must take initiative and be able to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the team.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
- Must be able to hear safety alarms, climb ladders, lift to 50 lbs., and wear safety boots.
