BTS-IT, Inc. develops customized ERP platforms for the metal and manufacturing industries. Our solutions support customers across North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand and include ERP development and implementation, eCommerce, mobile applications, cloud deployments, and third-party integrations. 

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our development, data, and architecture teams. This role blends technical leadership with strategic vision and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the evolution of our core products. You’ll partner closely with Product and business leaders, guide engineering best practices, and help modernize and scale our platform while supporting and mentoring a high-performing technical team.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, manage, and mentor development, data, and architecture teams
• Set and track departmental goals (KPIs) aligned with company objectives
• Oversee application architecture to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability
• Drive data strategy, including storage, reporting, analytics, and dashboards
• Continuously improve engineering standards, tools, and processes
• Guide modernization of legacy systems using modern architectures
• Integrate AI-augmented development practices with a strong human-in-the-loop approach
• Collaborate with Product teams and external development partners
• Support higher-level technical support needs and framework customization
• Ensure technical documentation remains accurate and up to date

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software development and engineering leadership
• 5+ years leading developers, architects, or data teams
• Strong background with Java, Spring, Hibernate, Angular, MySQL, and related technologies
• Experience with Git/SVN, CI/CD strategies, and modern development workflows
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS (certifications a plus)
• Experience modernizing legacy applications
• Ability to translate customer and business needs into technical solutions
• Background in manufacturing or distribution environments is a plus
• Travel: 10–20% domestic and international
