Journeyman Plumber – Rough-In & Repipe

We are currently seeking a Journeyman Plumber with strong experience in rough-in and repipe work, particularly in residential and multi-family environments. This is not a service-call role — this position is focused on projects, systems, and high-quality installations.
Position Summary
The Journeyman Plumber – Rough-In & Repipe is responsible for independently performing plumbing installations and system replacements on residential and multi-family projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and code compliance.
You will work closely with project managers, superintendents, and fellow trades to ensure plumbing systems are installed correctly, on schedule, and to Fischer’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Field Work
Perform rough-in and repipe plumbing work independently on residential and multi-family projects
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan plumbing layouts
Cut, assemble, and install piping systems for water supply, drainage, and waste disposal
Install, maintain, and repair water distribution systems
Locate, diagnose, and repair leaks and water supply line issues
Repair or replace drainage systems, clogged lines, and waste systems
Install and connect domestic fixtures and appliances (faucets, water heaters, etc.)
Inspect and test plumbing systems to ensure functionality, safety, and code compliance
Ensure work integrates safely with existing infrastructure (electrical, framing, HVAC, etc.)
Professional & Team Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with project teams, foremen, and other trades
Communicate clearly and professionally on job sites
Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas
Follow all company safety policies and jobsite procedures
Represent Fischer Plumbing with professionalism and integrity at all times
Required Qualifications
Active Washington State Journeyman Plumber License
Strong experience in rough-in and repipe work
Multi-family plumbing experience required
Solid understanding of water distribution and waste systems in residential and commercial buildings
Ability to use plumbing tools and equipment proficiently (pipe wrenches, cutters, threading machines, etc.)
Must provide your own basic hand tools
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Clear communication and professional demeanor
Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
Valid driver’s license
Clean driving record (DMV)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work in crawl spaces, attics, and confined areas
Ability to lift and carry 80+ lbs
Comfortable working on active construction sites
Able to stand, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the day
