Brief: Position Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Compensation Analyst to support the development, implementation, and administration of our compensation programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of compensation practices, data analysis, and market research to help ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.

Detailed:

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for designing, analyzing, and managing compensation and incentive structures that drive physician performance, business development growth, and financial results while remaining fully compliant with state and federal healthcare laws. This role supports executive leadership by delivering rigorous analysis, defensible compensation models, and clear recommendations that align pay with performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, model, and maintain physician compensation plans, including productivity-based, quality-based, and incentive-based structures.
  • Develop and manage incentive compensation programs for business development and growth roles in compliance with Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and patient brokering regulations.
  • Analyze compensation plans for financial sustainability, behavioral impact, and regulatory risk; recommend modifications supported by data.
  • Partner with the CFO, executive leadership, legal, and compliance to structure compensation arrangements that withstand audit and regulatory review.
  • Conduct market pricing and benchmarking for physicians, clinical providers, and revenue-generating roles using national survey data and internal performance metrics.
  • Build financial models to forecast compensation expense, ROI, and margin impact under multiple scenarios.
  • Lead annual compensation planning cycles, including physician compensation updates, incentive recalibration, and executive review materials.
  • Monitor ongoing performance relative to compensation plans and identify misalignment, cost overruns, or unintended incentives.
  • Produce executive-level dashboards and analyses translating compensation data into actionable financial and operational decisions.
  • Support internal audits, external reviews, and documentation related to provider and incentive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in compensation analysis, financial analysis, or healthcare analytics, with physician compensation experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or managing incentive compensation tied to productivity, growth, or revenue.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare compensation compliance, including Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and patient brokering requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and complex data manipulation.
  • Experience with physician compensation and market survey sources such as MGMA, SullivanCotter, Mercer, or similar.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex analyses to executive stakeholders.
  • CCP certification or progress toward certification is a plus.
