About The Alpine Club of Canada

The ACC is a not-for-profit organization established in 1906 that has grown to include 33 backcountry huts and 25 volunteer-run sections across the country. We have a rich history in Canadian Mountaineering and a dynamic team at the office to manage our diverse portfolios.

JOB OVERVIEW

Do you feel most at home in the alpine? Are you just as comfortable swinging a hammer as you are carrying a pack into the backcountry? The Alpine Club of Canada is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Worker to help care for the huts, lodge, and clubhouse that support Canada’s mountain community. This isn’t your typical maintenance job. You’ll travel to stunning, remote hut locations—sometimes for multiple days at a time—where your work directly supports climbers, skiers, hikers, and mountaineers exploring the alpine. Between projects, you’ll have the rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the very landscapes you help maintain.

Your work will take place both at the Canmore clubhouse and in breathtaking backcountry settings. You’ll play a key role in keeping ACC facilities safe, functional, and welcoming—ensuring members and guests can focus on the adventures that bring them there.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to combine your building skills with your passion for hiking, climbing, skiing, and exploring wild places, this is your chance to build something that truly matters—right in the heart of the mountains.
