About the role

The Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing daily station operations to ensure packages are accurately sorted, staged, and dispatched for on-time delivery. This role provides hands-on leadership to warehouse associates and driver teams, ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and high service performance in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead daily sort and dispatch operations within the delivery station
  • Coordinate inbound freight processing and route staging
  • Ensure all packages are sorted and loaded accurately by route
  • Drive on-time route departures and delivery performance

Team Management

  • Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse associates
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate volume forecasts and goals
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance
  • Support staffing adjustments based on daily volume changes

Performance & Quality

  • Track and report KPIs including:
    • On-time dispatch rate
    • Sort accuracy / mis-sort percentage
    • Packages processed per hour
    • Delivery success rate
  • Investigate and resolve operational discrepancies
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce workplace safety standards and company policies
  • Conduct safety briefings and ensure OSHA compliance
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with dispatch, transportation, and customer service teams
  • Escalate operational challenges to management when necessary
  • Support peak season planning and execution

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 2–4 years of logistics, warehouse, or final-mile delivery experience
  • 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience with scanning systems, routing software, and WMS platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts (early mornings, evenings, weekends)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an active warehouse setting
  • Bilingual Spanish

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in high-volume last-mile operations (e.g., parcel or e-commerce delivery)
  • Familiarity with operations similar to Amazon delivery stations, FedEx Ground terminals, or UPS package centers
  • Lean or continuous improvement training

The pay range for this role is:
50,000 - 55,000 USD per year(IAH)
