Position Summary
The Protestant Music Director serves as the primary music leader for weekly Protestant Worship Services. Under the guidance of the Protestant Worship Service Chaplain(s), the Director provides musical leadership for congregational worship, coordinates rehearsals, recruits volunteers, and ensures professional execution of all music support activities.
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
Direct music for weekly Sunday Protestant Worship Services.
Provide music support for special seasonal services (e.g., Christmas, Easter, combined services).
Lead weekly rehearsals and additional rehearsals for seasonal services as required.
Select hymns and worship music in coordination with Chaplain leadership.
Volunteer & Team Coordination
Recruit and maintain a worship team of at least four volunteers.
Coordinate musicians, singers, and Audio/Visual volunteers.
Ensure proper setup and teardown for services and rehearsals.
Maintain sanctuary in a professional and religiously neutral condition after use.
Administration & Compliance
Attend required rehearsals, staff meetings, and coordination meetings.
Provide a qualified substitute when unable to perform (with advance approval).
Comply with all base access, background check, security, and training requirements.
Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times.
Qualifications
Degree in Music or minimum one (1) year experience as a worship music director.
Ability to read music and lead praise band/team and congregational singing.
Demonstrated musical proficiency in melody, tempo, and rhythm.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
